# Introduction

For a payment gateway to exist we need;-

1.  **Third-party Providers/processors** who are going to give us the last mile of the transaction (the entities that actually allow the transactions to happen).
2.   **Different payment options** that those different third parties can give us. These different payment options could include Mobile Money, Card, or Bank.
3.   **Merchants;** the actual people who are going to use the services. These are registered on the platform through the Govnet onboarding process.
